Set up StormTV in 5 minutes

StormTV runs through the free IBO Player app — the most reliable, ad-free IPTV media player on the market. Here’s how to get streaming on any device.

What is IBO Player and why we use it

IBO Player is a clean, premium IPTV media player available on every major platform — Amazon Firestick, Samsung TizenOS, LG webOS, Android TV, Apple TV, iOS, Android, Windows and Mac. It is the only player StormTV officially supports because it offers:

  • Anti-freeze playback: proprietary stream-shaping that smooths out flaky home broadband.
  • 4K UHD & HEVC support: watch Sky Sports F1 in 4K HDR without proxy gymnastics.
  • Multi-screen EPG: a 7-day Electronic Programme Guide in proper British TV listings format.
  • Catch-Up & Time-Shift: rewind any live channel up to 7 days.
  • No ads, no spying: one-off setup fee on most stores, then nothing.

Before you start — the 3-minute checklist

  1. You have a StormTV subscription confirmation email (or active free trial credentials).
  2. Your device is connected to a 10 Mbps+ internet connection.
  3. You have IBO Player ready to download from your device’s app store.
  4. You can find your device’s MAC address (we’ll show you how).

Step 1 — Install IBO Player on your device

Pick your device from the list below and follow the install path. All downloads are free from the manufacturer’s app store.

Amazon Firestick & Fire TV (most popular UK device)

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, hit the magnifying glass and search for IBO Player.
  2. Select the IBO Player app and choose Get or Download.
  3. Once installed, open IBO Player from the Your Apps row.

Samsung Smart TV (TizenOS) & LG Smart TV (webOS)

  1. Open the Samsung App Store (or LG Content Store).
  2. Search for IBO Player and install.
  3. Launch the app from your TV’s home screen.

Android TV, Android Phone, Tablet & MAG / Set-Top Box

  1. Open Google Play (or your STB’s app portal).
  2. Search IBO Player and install.
  3. Open the app and accept the permissions prompt.

iOS & Apple TV

  1. Open the Apple App Store.
  2. Search for IBO Player and install.
  3. Open it and accept the local network permission prompt.

Windows PC & Mac

  1. Open your browser and head to the official IBO Player website.
  2. Download the desktop installer for Windows or macOS.
  3. Install and launch from your Applications folder.

Step 2 — Find your IBO Player MAC address

When you open IBO Player for the first time, the home screen prominently displays your device’s MAC address. It looks like this: 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. Photograph or note it down — we need it to activate your StormTV playlist on that specific device.

Step 3 — Send us your MAC address

Choose whichever channel is easiest for you:

  • WhatsApp (fastest): message your MAC address to +1 514 447 7860.
  • Email: send your MAC and order email to [email protected].
  • Live chat: our British support team is on the chat widget bottom-right.

We activate the device within minutes — typically under 5 during UK waking hours.

Step 4 — Reopen IBO Player & start streaming

Close IBO Player completely and reopen it. Your full StormTV playlist syncs automatically: 55,000+ live channels, the 7-day EPG, every VOD title and the Catch-Up archive. The picture should be live within seconds.

Step 5 — Make the player feel like home

  • Set Favourites: long-press any channel to add it to a custom favourites list (perfect for keeping Sky Sports Football and BBC One one click away).
  • Parental control: set a PIN under Settings > Parental Lock to restrict adult categories.
  • Adjust stream quality: if you’re on a slower line, pick Auto in the player options — our Anti-Freeze engine will adapt in real time.
  • Enable EPG: the British TV guide is on by default; if you don’t see times, tap Refresh EPG.

Troubleshooting

Channels won’t load

Restart your device, then reopen IBO Player. If the issue persists, send your MAC and a screenshot to support — usually a one-click fix on our end.

Picture stutters during Premier League

Switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet if you can, or move closer to the router. Our Anti-Freeze engine handles most flaky lines, but a 5 GHz band always streams 4K better than 2.4 GHz.

EPG is empty

Tap Settings > Refresh EPG. The first refresh can take 60 seconds while the 7-day British TV guide downloads.

App won’t open after install

Clear the IBO Player cache (Settings > Apps > IBO Player > Clear cache), or uninstall and reinstall — your MAC address won’t change.
